What is the San Juan Business Collective?

The San Juan Business Collective is a one-stop resource for all the businesses in (or near) the San Juan Mountains area. If you're visiting, vacationing, plan to stay a while, or even if you live here and want to find businesses you weren't familiar with, this is the place to find it.

The San Juan Business Collective consists of 3 sections. A regular website with helpful information, a Business Directory where you can find any business in your selected town, and a Marketplace where you can buy products from the businesses that have set up a store.

The mission for this site

After relocating to beautiful Ouray, I found that there are few online resources that can really help the businesses in these towns. Many businesses have websites, but you can't find them unless you know the actual business name. Facebook groups help with recommendations, but that is not a dependable solution for everyone. Even the city and county sites have incomplete or outdated directories.

A centrallized resource will allow businesses to be found for people planning their vacation. If they set up a store, they can sell their products to people all over the country who don't have the time or luxury to visit. Because the towns in the San Juan Region are tourist towns, much of their economy depends on small business activity. Businesses who improve sales and increase visitors by having an online presence will benefit not only themselves, but the town's economy as well.
